Abstract

The opportunity and challenge in Chinese Language International Education: to popularize Chinese language around the world also exist the opportunity and challenge. This article proposes the advantage and disadvantage for Chinese Language International Education in major characteristics of Chinese language, which are: 1) Chinese language is a non-inflectional language; 2) Chinese characters are ideograms; 3) Chinese language is tonal language. Each characteristic becomes the advantage and disadvantage of Chinese language. This article sums up the above characteristics and also has the analysis in addition.
