Publication Policies
Manuscript Language Policy
The Journal of Sinology (JSINO) accepts manuscripts in Thai, Chinese, and English, provided they fall within the journal’s aims and scope and adhere to academic writing standards. For manuscripts submitted in Thai or Chinese, authors are required to include the title, abstract, and keywords in English to ensure accessibility for the wider academic community.
Article Processing Charge Policy
The Journal of Sinology (JSINO) does not charge authors any fees to publish their articles. However, we acknowledge that authors’ circumstances may evolve after submitting their manuscript.
Only if authors choose to withdraw their manuscript after peer review initiation, a withdrawal fee of 4,500 THB will be imposed. This fee is crucial to offset the expenses incurred during the review phase and to fairly remunerate our reviewers for their commitment and specialized insights. We encourage authors to consider their decision before submitting their manuscripts for review. The withdrawal fee is implemented to ensure the integrity of the review process and to ensure fair treatment of our reviewers, who dedicate their time and insights. It is essential to note that authors who withdraw their manuscript but are unwilling to pay the withdrawal fee will be subject to a 2-year ban on submitting their work to our journal. This measure is in place to maintain the integrity of the submission process and ensure that all participants are treated fairly and with respect.
Open Access Policy
The Journal of Sinology (JSINO) is committed to the broad dissemination and accessibility of research in Thai–Chinese studies. All content is published on an open-access basis, allowing readers worldwide to read, download, and share articles free of charge. By removing access barriers, the journal aims to foster the widest possible exchange of knowledge and advance scholarship in Chinese studies within both regional and global contexts.
Copyright and Licensing Policy
Authors whose manuscripts are accepted for publication in the Journal of Sinology (JSINO) are required to transfer copyright of their work to the journal. This transfer ensures complete copyright protection and enables appropriate distribution of the articles through both print and electronic media.
Proper citation of the original publication in JSINO is mandatory in all cases of reuse. Authors are also responsible for obtaining prior permission to reproduce any copyrighted material from other sources that appears in their manuscripts.
