Public Participation in Preparing The 5-year Local Development Plan (2023-2027) of Suvarnabhumi Subdistrict Municipality, Suwannaphum District, Roi Et Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research article are (1) to study the level and comparison of public participation, (2) to study the principles of public participation. In preparing the 5-year local development plan (2023-2027) of Suvarnabhumi Subdistrict Municipality, Suvarnabhumi District, Roi Et Province. This research is mixed methods research. Quantitative research: The sample group was 378 people living in the area of Suvarnabhumi Subdistrict Municipality. The sample size was determined using Taro Yamane's formula. Statistics used in data analysis included mean, standard deviation. and inferential statistics for testing hypotheses, there is one-way analysis of variance (One Way ANOVA) and qualitative research: study the target group using in-depth interviews, from four key informants, content analysis techniques were used from interviews. The research results found that Level of participation, public participation in preparing the 5-year local development plan, the overall level was at a high level, including participation in decision making, participation in joint operations participation in benefits and participation in monitoring and evaluation. The results of testing the hypothesis of public participation in the preparation of the 5-year local development plan were different overall. People with different levels of education, occupations, and incomes. There are different types of participation and suggestions from the people regarding public participation in preparing the 5-year local development plan, they should participate in mobilizing forces together to prepare the development plan and monitoring and evaluation Promote the creation of awareness and morality.
