Abstract

Newspaper is the bridge to connect people to the society. Chinese newspapers also play this same role. However, the role of Chinese newspapers in the overseas Chinese communities in Thailand acts in more specific dimensions. This research used three Chinese newspapers in Thailand as the target samples, namely, The Sing Sian Yer Pao Daily News, The Universal Daily News and Asia News Time. The research explores the role of Chinese newspapers in the overseas Chinese communities in Thailand through the three newspapers. From the collection and analysis of Chinese newspapers, it was found that Chinese newspapers played the very important role in Chinese education in Thailand, Chinese Associations and the dissemination of Chinese culture in Thailand.
