“Belt and Road Initiative” and the New Era of China Studies in Thailand

Since President Xi Jinping initiated the “One Belt One Road” (OBOR) in 2013, China has entered a new era. Thailand is one of “One Belt One Road” countries and the Thai government views with prospect the future of the “One Belt One Road” project. Ultimately, Thailand has promoted Chinese studies in the new plan for national development "Thailand 4.0”, along with research on China in the country's education system. In this paper, a presentation about the history and originality of Chinese studies, “One Belt One Road” with helping to promote Chinese studies, the developing of China studies in Thailand. Including the Sino-Thai “One Belt One Road” cooperation to develop into the "Thailand 4.0" policy to promote China studies in Thailand to enter a new era in prosperity.
