Abstract

The youth group is the most important part of the society. The youth research that began in the early 20th century quickly developed into an interdisciplinary research field centered on sociology, and formed a relatively independent research method and problem orientation. Throughout the research history of youth sociology, the 20th century Western youth research theory has been dominated by “structural-functionalism” and various forms of metaphysical analysis; its involves a wide range of problems and diverse perspectives. The Chinese youth sociology research started late, and experienced the development stage of theoretical expansion, silence and focus on empirical investigation. But on the whole; there is a lack of a more authoritative theoretical guiding paradigm.
