Competency-Based Curriculum in Education Sandbox: Opening New Opportunities to Transform Thai Education

Abstract
Education is a foundation for human resource development. It is an important part of moving the country forward in both economic and social aspects. While the traditional curriculum is still unable to succeed, the competency-based curriculum is a new approach for educational development that focuses on students be able to developing the necessary skills for using in daily life and working in the future. Schools in education sandbox play an important role in developing and testing the competency-based curriculum by giving students the opportunity to participate in learning through action, critical thinking, and creative problem solving. The competency-based curriculum also promotes self-responsibility, initiative, and collaboration among students. It also connects the knowledge that they have learned with real situations. The results of implementing this curriculum have created significant changes in the teaching and learning process, resulting in students being ready to face the challenges of the present and future world. The development of the competency-based curriculum in schools in education sandbox is an important step in transforming Thai education and is an important foundation for sustainable future development.
