PROVIDING APPROPRIATE WELFARE FOR THE ELDERLY IN MUEANG YANG SUBDISTRICT, CHAMNI DISTRICT, BURIRAM PROVINCE

Abstract

ABSTRACT

This research aimed to 1) study the level of appropriate welfare provision for the elderly in Muang Yang Sub-district, Chamni District, Buriram Province 2) study the level of variables and factors affecting the appropriate welfare provision for the elderly in Muang Yang Sub-district, Chamni District, Buriram Province 3) study the recommendations for appropriate welfare provision for the elderly in Muang Yang Sub-district, Chamni District, Buriram Province by randomly selecting samples from the Taro Yamane formula, resulting in a sample of 302 elderly people. The research instruments were questionnaires and interview forms. The analysis was performed by finding frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and the values ​​of factors affecting the appropriate welfare provision for the elderly in Muang Yang Sub-district, Chamni District, Buriram Province, analyzed by the correlation coefficient.

The research results found that 1) The study of the level of appropriate welfare provision for the elderly in Muang Yang Sub-district, Chamni District, Buriram Province, was at a high level overall. 2) The study of the level of factors affecting the appropriate welfare provision for the elderly in Muang Yang Sub-district, Chamni District, Buriram Province, was at a high level overall. 3) The factors affecting the appropriate welfare provision for the elderly in Muang Yang Sub-district, Chamni District, Buriram Province, could be predicted at 53.2 percent (Adjusted R2 = .532) with statistical significance at the .05 level. It can be written as a prediction in the form of raw scores and regression equations as follows: Y = 138+-204(X1)+489(X2)+.176(X3)+1410X4) and Z = -1970X1)+684(X2)+126(X3)+1370X4) 4) Analysis of the needs and suggestions of the elderly in the area of ​​Muang Yang Subdistrict, Chamni District, Buriram Province found that the needs and suggestions of the elderly in the area that were expressed the most were that the elderly wanted to receive an additional living allowance from the government in order to have enough for living
