Abstract

This article is an analysis of the failure to promote the concept of democracy in the Union of Myanmar. This is because the internal mechanisms of the state are controlled by the military dictatorship and the large amount of authoritarianism in parliament. This is an inheritance from the past administrative history of more than 48 years of military dictatorship. This makes democracy unable to be a tool for social development and society unable to create new innovations of government to perfection as well. In addition, it also results in greater inequality in society and severe violations of people's rights and freedoms. This causes conflict between the government and citizens. Until it led to being ranked in the group of failed states. Foreign economic sanctions the level of import-export of goods has been reduced. Suspension of trade benefits, and foreign investors do not dare to take risks to conduct business in the country. People in the country do not cooperate in the operation of the state, and the state is unable to control the people within the legal framework as desired and will also be condemned by the international community as a cruel government that harms its own citizens just because of different political sides. Ultimately, the government is unable to establish legitimacy in running the country and is completely unacceptable to the people in the country.
