Abstract

This research aims to 1) study the level of social welfare needs for the elderly in Nong Teng Sub-district, Krasang District, Buriram Province, and 2) study policy recommendations related to the quality of life of the elderly who do not receive sufficient welfare in Nong Teng Sub-district, Krasang District, Buriram Province. The sample group consisted of 323 people aged 60 years and over according to Yamane's (1973) formula and used a simple random sampling method. This is                    a quantitative research using the concept of community welfare for the elderly as a research framework. The research area is Nong Teng Sub-district Municipality, Krasang District, Buriram Province. The research instrument is a rating scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed using basic statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

 The results of the research found that 1) The level of social welfare needs for the elderly in Nong Teng Sub-district, Krasang District, Buriram Province is at the highest level overall. With a mean of 4.60 (x  = 4.60, S.D. = 0.368) and 2) policy recommendations on the quality of life of the elderly who do not receive sufficient welfare in Nong Teng Subdistrict, Krasang District, Buriram Province, it is suggested that Nong Teng Subdistrict Municipality, Krasang District, Buriram Province needs to integrate cooperation from many sectors, both government, private and community sectors, to develop and promote the elderly to have good health, both physically and mentally, have learning that can be applied in daily life, have safety in both life and property, and receive support and allocation of welfare from relevant agencies.
