Abstract

This research aimed to develop a management model for helping and protecting ethnic students in the situation of the epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Ban Boluang School, Chiang Mai Primary Educational Service Area Office 5.

The research objectives were: 1. to study the needs for school management to help and protect ethnic students. 2. to create a model for school management to help and protect ethnic students. 3. try out the school management model to help and protect ethnic students. 4. to evaluate educational institution management models to help and protect ethnic students.  

The results showed that

  1. School administrators, teachers, basic education committees and parents’ needs for management guidelines of educational institution to help and protect students were at the highest level. ( = 4.58, S.D=0.54)
  2. The model of educational institution management to help and protect students in the situation of the epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) consisted of 5 components: 1. Participatory management 2. Watching and helping students 3. Safety building 4. Organizing learning activities in accordance with the situation, and 5. Protecting students.
  3. The results of the school management model trial to help and protect students showed that schools followed the model at the highest level. There were 14 items of improvement.
  4. The results of the model assessment showed that 1) educational institute administrators, teachers, basic education committees, parents and students were satisfied with the model at the highest level. 2) The students were safe from the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) at 99.67%. 3) Ethnic students had quality of life at a high level.
