This article aimed to study (1) the effectiveness of the 4MAT system in improving English Reading Skills among second-year vocational certificate students at Prachinburi Technical College and (2) students’ satisfaction toward learning English reading through the 4MAT system. The sample consisted of 40 second-year vocational certificate students at Prachinburi Technical College in the academic year 2025. They were selected by purposive sampling. The study employed a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design conducted over a six-week experimental period. The instruments for collecting data were a researcher-developed English Reading Skills test, lesson plans based on the 4MAT system, and a student satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics (paired-samples t-test). The results of the study showed that students’ English reading skills after learning through the 4MAT system was significantly higher than before the instruction at the .05 (t(39) = 24.55, p < .001) level. The mean posttest score (M = 22.11, S.D. = 1.57) was higher than the mean pretest score (M = 15.38, S.D. = 1.42), with a very large effect size (Cohen’s d = 2.99). Students’ satisfaction with learning English reading through the 4MAT system was at a very high level overall (M = 4.53, S.D. = 0.49). The findings showed higher reading scores after instruction and a high reported level of learner satisfaction.
