Organizational Culture of Schools Under the Jurisdiction of Krabi Local Government Organization

Abstract

This study aimed to 1) investigate organizational culture among schools in the view of teachers, 2) compare organizational culture among schools in the view of teachers in relevance to their gender, educational degree, academic standing, work experience, school size, administrators’ gender and academic standing and 3) examine problems and suggestions related to organizational culture among schools. The studied sample consisted of 234 teachers under local organizations in Krabi. The sample size was determined using Krejcie and Morgan’s table with a 95% confidence interval and the overall reliability coefficient of .994. The data analysis statistics included mean, standard deviation, t-test independent One-way ANOVA, pairwise comparison LSD, and content analysis.


The findings revealed that: 1) the overall and every aspect of schools’ organizational culture in the view of teachers were found at good levels; 2) the overall comparison of schools’ organizational culture in the view of teachers in relevance to their teachers gender, educational degree, school size, administrators’ gender and academic standing showed no significant differences. Regarding the academic standing and work experience, it was found that there were significant differences at level of .001, And 3) Problems and suggestions indicated that most of the problems, according to teachers, arose from the acceptance and delegation of authority, which administrators were unable to handle effectively. Therefore, administrators should promote internal relationships within the organization to reduce differences between individuals, which enables personnel to unite as one, minimize conflicts and ensure fairness.
