THE DEVELOPMENT OF READING COMPREHENSION ABILITY OF MATHAYOMSUKSA 1 STUDENTS BY USING SQ4R TECHNIQUE AND POWER QUESTION

This research article objectives were 1) to develop the reading comprehension ability of Mathayomsuksa 1 students by using the SQ4R technique, 2) to study the opinions of Mathayomsuksa 1 students towards learning management by using the SQ4R technique in groups. The samples used in this research were students in Mathayomsuksa 1/6, semester 1, academic year 2022, Kanlayanawat School. Mueang Khon Kaen District Khon Kaen Province, 42 people, obtained by simple random sampling. The instruments used in the research were: 1) a learning management plan with reading comprehension development steps; 2) A questionnaire on students' opinions on reading comprehension using the SQ4R technique, the statistics used to analyze the data were basic statistics, namely mean, standard deviation and percentage.
The results showed that
1) The result of the development of reading comprehension ability of Mathayomsuksa 1 students using the SQ4R technique with an average of 80% passed the criteria. The average criterion was 83.60 percent, which was higher than the specified criterion of 80 percent, and there were 42 students representing 100 percent who met the criteria. Therefore, it can be concluded that the innovation of the SQ4R technique helps develop the student's ability to read the main points through the criteria of 80. And 2) the effect of the study of the opinions of Mathayomsuksa 1 students on reading comprehension using the SQ4R technique was found. In conclusion, the students' opinions on this innovative learning method were at the highest level.
