This study aimed to (1) examine the effects of personal factors on the satisfaction of employees using canteen services, (2) investigate the influence of food quality, service quality, and price perception on overall satisfaction, and (3) assess the overall level of satisfaction among employees using the canteen services in the Hi-Tech Industrial Estate, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.
The research employed a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 200 employees from the production, administration, purchasing, human resources, and management departments of companies located in the industrial estate. The sample size was determined based on Krejcie and Morgan’s (1970) table, and respondents were selected through convenience sampling, as a complete list of the population was unavailable.
The questionnaire comprised three parts with a total of 19 items: (1) personal information, (2) factors concerning food quality, service quality, and price perception, and (3) overall satisfaction with canteen services. A five-point Likert scale was used. The instrument’s quality was verified through content validity (IOC = 0.80–1.00) and reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.91). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics, including the t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation, and multiple regression analysis (Enter Method).
The results revealed that (1) personal factors significantly affected satisfaction (p < .05); female employees, operational staff, and those earning less than 20,000 Baht per month reported higher satisfaction levels; (2) service quality had the greatest influence on overall satisfaction (β = 0.806, p < .001), while food quality and price perception had no significant effects, with the model explaining 86.8% of the variance (R² = 0.868); and (3) the overall satisfaction level was high (Mean = 4.09), particularly for price perception, which was rated the highest (Mean = 4.26).
