POLITICAL OPINIONS AND MODERN YOUTH IN CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY

This academic article aims to analyze the political opinions of the younger generation in contemporary Thai society by employing theoretical frameworks from political culture, political participation, and political communication. The study seeks to understand the political behaviors, driving forces, and constraints that young people face in their participation in social change and democratic development. Social media and digital technologies play a significant role in providing platforms for youth to express themselves, share opinions, and mobilize for change through various forms—ranging from symbolic activities and cultural-political movements to the creation of new media content. Although youth participation has positive potential, it continues to face resistance from entrenched power structures and intergenerational ideological divides. The article argues that fostering creative spaces for youth expression, promoting participatory political culture, and reducing ideological bias are essential strategies for enhancing the long-term stability of democracy.
