STRENGTHENING PEOPLE'S VALUES WITH BUDDHIST PRINCIPLES TO COMBAT POLITICAL CORRUPTION AND MISCONDUCT IN THE NORTHEAST

This research aimed to 1) study the status of enhancing people’s values with Buddhist principles to combat corruption and political misconduct in the Northeast, 2) study the factors affecting the enhancing people’s values with Buddhist principles to combat corruption and political misconduct in the Northeast, and 3) study the development guidelines for enhancing people’s values with Buddhist principles to combat corruption and political misconduct in the Northeast. This research was mixed-methods research. The sample consisted of 400 eligible voters and 20 target people. The instruments were questionnaires and interview forms. The statistics were frequency, percentage, and multiple regression analysis. The data was analyzed and a report was written according to the objectives and the results were discussed.
The research results found that 1) the status of the development of people's value enhancement with Buddhist principles to combat corruption and political misconduct in the Northeast was at a moderate level overall. Considering each aspect, it was found that the aspects of participation, opinions on value enhancement, and value enhancement were respectively. 2) The factors affecting the development of people's value enhancement with Buddhist principles to combat corruption and political misconduct in the Northeast (overall) with a statistical significance level of .05 were public relations (X2), corruption perception (X1), and network building (X5), with predictor coefficients in the raw scores (b) equal to .322, .249, and .099, respectively. 3) The guideline for developing people's value enhancement with Buddhist principles to combat corruption and political misconduct is to train people by having government agencies create values and promote anti-corruption activities to create a sense of being good citizens.
