Participation in local politics of people in the administrative organization area for Nong Bua Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu province

Political participation is an indicator of political development in a country's democracy. Local government is a form of decentralization that allows local people to participate. The environmental factors have interrelated relationships that cause people to participate in local politics. The aim for this research was to : 1) study environmental factors that affect local political participation of people; 2) study the level of local political participation of people in the district, Nong Bua Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province. 3) The sample was 375 people. The research tool is a questionnaire. Statistics used in the research include frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation. Data were analyzed using computer programs. The research results found that:
- Environmental factors influencing local political participation of people in the Nong Bua Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District Nong Bua Lamphu Province. Overall, it was at a moderate level ( =3.67). When categorized, the highest mean is for the role of political leaders ( =3.78), followed by the group interests and political party role ( =3.59).
- Level of community participation in local politics of the people of Nong Bua Subdistrict Administrative Organization Mueang District Nong Bua Lamphu Province. Is moderate overall ( =2.84). Across different aspects, all have moderate mean values. The highest mean is for the perception of news information ( =3.49), followed by decision-making ( =3.03), expressing opinions ( =2.94), collaborative actions ( =2.84), and monitoring ( =2.39).
3. Strategies to promote local political participation of residents in Nong Bua Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District Nong Bua Lamphu Province, could involve organizing political events or platforms to provide opportunities for residents to receive information and engage with local political activities. Developing online media could facilitate citizen awareness, and opening opportunities for residents to join committees and oversight bodies.
