Conservation guidelines for long drums of Jum Chang Village, Umma Sub - district, Phon Thong District, Roi Et Province

Abstract

This research is qualitative research. There are 3 objectives in the study : 1) to study guidelines for conservation of the Isan long drum circle, 2) to analyze problems and obstacles in the conservation of the Isan long drum circle, and 3) to suggest solutions to problems and obstacles in the conservation of the Isan long drum circle. Using in-depth interviews. There are 7 target groups : 1) village headmen, 2) village head assistants, 3) leaders of the Isaan long drum band, 4) members of the Isaan long drum band, 5) academics in the long drum band, 6) citizens, and 7) local scholars. The results of the study on conservation guidelines for the Isan long drum circle found that people and leaders in the community should find ways to manage the conservation of the long drum circle in a sustainable way. Because at present there is a small group of people interested in learning and preserving this art and culture. This will result in this beautiful local culture disappearing. Issues, problems, and obstacles in preserving the Isan long drum circle found that modern youth lack interest in and learning to preserve this art and culture. and the issue of solutions and obstacles to the conservation of the Isan long drum circle, it was found that training activities should be organized to promote local arts and culture. Including inviting the public and those interested to join in listening to information and exchanging knowledge about Promoting the preservation of this beautiful art and culture.
