Administration According to the Principles of Good Governance of the Kranuan Town Municipality, Kranuan District, Khon Kaen Province

The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the level of good governance in the administration of Kranuan Town Municipality, Kranuan District, Khon Kaen Province, and 2) to compare people's opinions toward the governance of Kranuan Town Municipality, classified by personal factors. The population consisted of 8,196 eligible voters from 6 villages and 11 communities within the municipal area. The sample size of 399 individuals was determined using Taro Yamane’s formula. The research instrument was a rating scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test (One-way ANOVA), and Scheffe’s method for post-hoc comparison. The research findings revealed that:
- The overall level of good governance in the administration of Kranuan Town Municipality was at a high level (mean = 4.02). When considering each aspect, they were ranked from highest to lowest as follows: Accountability (mean = 4.13), Morality (mean = 4.06), Rule of Law (mean = 4.06), Participation (mean = 4.04), Efficiency (mean = 3.95), and Transparency (mean = 3.91).
- The People with different genders, educational levels, and occupations showed no statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level in their opinions toward the governance of Kranuan Town Municipality.
Key findings indicated a strategic transition from top-down administration to Network Governance. The most prominent strength was results-based accountability and equitable service delivery. Conversely, transparency was identified as a critical area requiring improvement through the implementation of information technology systems.
