Potential of the Community Leaders for Driving the Community Capital for Strong and Sustainable Community Management in Mae Pao Sub-district, Phaya Meng Rai District, Chiang Rai Province

Abstract

The objective of this research is to study the potential development of community leaders for driving the community capital for strong and sustainable community management in Mae Pao sub-district, Phaya Meng Rai district, Chiang Rai province. The target group consisted of 14 community leaders in Mae Pao sub-district, 6 heads of government offices involved, and 15 community members who were selected from 5 representatives of youth, women, and elderly groups. The semi-structured interview form and questionnaire with openended and close-ended questions were used as research tools to collect data.Technically, the data were collected by means of interviewing and organizing public stages. The data collection was analyzed, verified and classified into categories. The results showed that the potentials of the community leaders for driving the community capital for strong and sustainable community management consisted of community leadership, community resources, and community coordination.
