IDEOLOGY IN WORK DETERMINATION AND WORKING AGE POPULATION’S WOUND: A CASE STUDY OF A NOVEL ENTITLED “YANG NGAI CHAN KAU CHA LOEK NGAN TRONG WELA (I WILL NOT WORK OVERTIME)”

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the ideology in terms of work determination and 2) to study working age population’s wound in the novel. Ideology and capitalism approaches were applied as a framework in this research.

The results were concluded that the ideology in work determination interferes thoughts, behaviors, and feelings via characters in the novel, so they devote themself to work and build frightened condition for unemployment. Therefore all tasks assigned are dedicatedly finished up. However, the ideology mentioned also build wound for workers whose duties are devotedly done for their workplace affecting to Work - Life balance which characters are totally fail causing passing away. This study revealed the ideology power interfering working society of Japan nation and also occurring a hard - working culture of Japanese.
