A STUDY OF GUIDELINES AND TEACHING MEDIA DEVELOPMENT MODEL TO PROMOTE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SKILLS FOR POLICE SERGEANTS CLASS 11 OF THE PROVINCIAL POLICE TRAINING CENTER REGION 1

Abstract

The research objectives are to study the guideline and forms of teaching and learning media development, to enhance technology skills through using the Facebook Live platform, and to study approaches and formats for increasing skills, teaching and learning efficiency in information technology. The participant is four hundred police sergeants from the 11th police sergeants at the training center of provincial police region 1obtained by using the formula of Taro Yaman. There are seven instructors participated. The research method is mixed methods: quantitative and qualitative. Exploratory method and collecting data from the police sergeants are used for quantitative method. In-depth interviewing, which is used to interview instructors who are in the instructor’s group that uses the OBS program as the part of Facebook Live in teaching and learning of the police sergeants in order to collect data for analysis, is used for qualitative method. Questionnaires and in-depth interviews are used for research instrument. Mean and standard deviation are used for data analysis as statistic form. The result of this study showed that the respondents understand the development of teaching material: using the OBS program as the part of Facebook Live in order to teach and learn about information technology and give a high level of point for the program. Moreover, the respondents understand the development of media and information technology skills which is as an indicator that this instructional material is easily understood and the police sergeants are able to follow what the instructor conveys and understands it very well.
