The The Development of Essay Writing Ability by Using Task-Based Learning for Grade 5/1 Students of Ban Pa Bong School

Abstract

The objectives  of  this  research  are: 1) compare the essay writing ability of grade 5 students of Ban Pabong School before and after learning by using Task-Based Learning; 2)study the satisfaction of grade 5 students towards Task-Based Learning. The sample consisted of 16 grade 5 students of Ban Pabong school by cluster random sampling, quasi-experimental research design with a single experimental group to measure before and after the experiment. The research instruments were the Task-Based Learning manasement plan, the essay writing test and the student satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using basic statistics, including mean, standard deviation, percentage, and t-test, dependent. The research results found that 1) the essay writing ability of grade 5 students of Ban Pabong school after learning by using Task-Based Learning was significantly higher than before learning at the .05 level.  2) the satisfaction of grade 5 students towards the learning management by using Task-Based Learning was at the highest level (𝑥̅= 4.85, SD = 0.36).
