Community Involvement in Drug Prevention and Remediation in Linfa Subdistrict, Yang Chum Noi District, Sisaket Province

Abstract

Research on Public Participation in Drug Prevention and Resolution in Lin Fa Subdistrict, Sisaket Province This research aimed to examine the relationship and influence on public participation in drug prevention and resolution within Lin Fa Subdistrict, Yang Chum Noi District, Sisaket Province. From a population of 5,853 individuals, a non-probability sample of 368 people was chosen using stratified random sampling. The sample size was calculated using Yamane's (1937) formula, assuming a 95% confidence level and an acceptable error margin of 0.05. The statistical methods used for data analysis included mean, percentage, standard deviation, and hypothesis testing. To assess relationships, Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient was employed, while Multiple Regression Analysis was utilized to test multiple regression coefficients.

          Research Findings The study revealed that the community relationship factor had the highest mean score (=4.04), indicating the highest level of agreement, followed by the activity organization for prevention and resolution factor (=3.88). When examining the relationships between factors, a positive and statistically significant correlation at the .05 level was found for: Community relationship (.709) Activity organization for prevention and resolution (.686) Community leaders and their roles (.645) Strictness of local laws (.749) Cooperation between officials and the community (.765) Rehabilitation of drug addicts in the community (.882) Furthermore, a multiple regression analysis predicting the influence of factors indicated that the following had a statistically significant influence at the .05 level: Community relationship ( = .202) Rehabilitation of drug addicts in the community ( = .127) Activity organization for prevention and resolution ( = .121)

          Conclusion Overall, the findings suggest that the residents of Lin Fa Subdistrict, Yang Chum Noi District, Sisaket Province, place significant importance on opinions related to management based on the principles of public participation in drug prevention and resolution. Public participation in drug prevention and resolution in the subdistrict was found to be at a high level.
