Pubilc participation in the development of Song Chan subdistrict municipality, Krasang District, Buriram Province

Abstract

This research article on “People’s Participation in Local Development of Song Chan Subdistrict Municipality, Krasang District, Buriram Province” aims to study 1) the level of people’s participation in local development of Song Chan Subdistrict Municipality, Krasang District, Buriram Province, and 2) compare people with different personal factors with their participation in local development of Song Chan Subdistrict Municipality, Krasang District, Buriram Province. The population of Song Chan Subdistrict, Krasang District, Buriram Province, totaling 12,224 people. The research design is quantitative research, using the concept of people’s participation in local development as a research framework. The research area is Song Chan Subdistrict Municipality, Krasang District, Buriram Province. The sample group is 387 people. The method of stratified random selection is proportional. The research instrument is a questionnaire. Data analysis is done using basic statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

The research results found that 1) the level of people’s participation in local development consists of 4 aspects: participation in evaluation, participation in operations, participation in decision-making, and participation in receiving benefits. Overall, it is at a moderate level with an average value of 3.14.
