Abstract

This article explores the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in revolutionizing Educational Quality Assurance (EQA) within the Thai education. The study identifies key AI-driven strategies essential for this elevation. Firstly, AI tools for Data Analytics and Predictive AI Tools, including ML and DL platforms, enable precise analysis of large educational datasets. This allows for the rapid identification of student performance trends, potential quality issues, or at-risk students, which is crucial information for proactive intervention. Secondly, AI tools for Assessment and Feedback, such as automated grading systems and adaptive learning platforms, improve efficiency and consistency in evaluation and provide timely personalized feedback to learners and educators. Thirdly, AI-powered NLP tools, which include sentiment analysis and Generative AI, reduce the complexity of administrative tasks, enhance stakeholder engagement through qualitative feedback analysis, and assist in efficiently preparing compliance documents. Lastly, AI tools for resource management and operations enhance the efficiency of institutional resource allocation, which contributes to overall operational effectiveness and service quality. The implementation of these strategies will bring diverse benefits. Firstly, increased efficiency and accuracy in the EQA process through the automation of routine tasks. Secondly, improved decision-making through real-time insights and predictive capabilities. Thirdly, increased personalization and equity in learning experiences, which reduces educational gaps. Fourthly, greater transparency and accountability across the entire education system. And lastly, a significant optimization of resource utilization, enabling institutions to invest more in core educational areas. However, the adoption of AI faces challenges: digital divide/infrastructure, AI literacy/capacity building, data privacy, algorithmic bias, costs/legacy system integration, and policy frameworks. The strategic use of AI in EQA represents a significant opportunity for Thailand to build a flexible and advanced education system, emphasizing human-AI collaboration, ethics, and continuous learning, to enhance global competitiveness and lead to education excellence in the AI era.
