THE CURRENT SITUATION AND DESIRABLE SITUATION FOR ENHANCING TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP OF PRIMARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS IN GUANGXI, CHINA

บทคัดย่อ

The objectives of this research were to: 1) investigate the current situations and desirable situations of transformational leadership of primary school principals in Guangxi, and 2) investigate the needs assessment of transformational leadership of primary school principals in Guangxi. The research employed a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 370 participants, including 95 school principals and 275 teachers. The sample size was determined using Krejcie and Morgan’s table, and participants were selected through stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire, and the data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, PNImodified, and content analysis.

The findings revealed that: 1) the current situation in all and each individual component was at a high level, while the desirable situation in all and each individual component was also at a high level, and 2) the needs assessment ranked the qualities from highest to lowest as follows: individualized consideration, idealized influence, inspirational motivation, and intellectual stimulation.
