The Decision Making of Myanmar Migrant Workers to Work in Ratchaburi Province

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the environment that affects the decision to come to work. in Ratchaburi Province of foreign workers of Myanmar nationality and guidelines for planning work related to foreign labor missions of officials under the Ministry of Labor in the regions. It is a qualitative research, collecting data from documents and interviewing 8 key informants. The results found that the environment that first affected the decision to work in Ratchaburi Province was the social environment, followed by economic environment and cultural environment. While those sections which had no effect on the decision to come to work in Ratchaburi Province of Myanmar foreign workers is the geographic environment. Recommendation for planning work related to missions Regarding foreign workers of officials under the Ministry of Labor in the regions are that interpreters or language coordination officers should be hired, disseminate and publicize the mission of the agency directly to Myanmar workers, presents public relations news through the design of Myanmar language public relations media to increase awareness of news concerning employment, rights and duties of Myanmar workers, knowledge about the minimum wage rate and benefits that the insured must receive from the social security system in time of sickness or in danger.
