Management of Child Development Center under San Pa Pao Subdistrict Municipality, San Sai District, Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) examine the management process of the Child Development Center under San Pa Pao Subdistrict Municipality; (2) investigate the value for money of the Child Development Center management; and (3) propose guidelines for improving the management of the Child Development Center to achieve sustainable quality and cost-effectiveness. A qualitative research approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with 22 key informants selected by purposive sampling, consisting of personnel and stakeholders involved in the San Pa Pao Child Development Center. The findings revealed that the management of the Child Development Center under San Pa Pao Subdistrict Municipality demonstrated strong administrative structures, qualified personnel, and continuous support from the municipality. In addition, its operations were consistent with the operational standards for Child Development Centers under local administrative organizations. However, the study suggests that greater emphasis should be placed on participatory budgeting and the continuous development of quality management systems to further enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of the center’s operations.
