Thai political parties and the allocation of political party funds according to the framework of the constitution B.E. 2540-2560

Abstract

            The objectives of this research were to study (1) the development of the allocation of Thai political party funds;   (2) the allocation of Thai political party funds comparatively; and (3) investigates the trends and directions of the allocation of Thai political party funds according to the framework of the Constitution B.E. 2540-2560 (1997-2017). The analysis units are purposively selected consisted of political parties of 3 sizes.

Findings are as follows: large parties do not rely much on financial support, but on donations and money from party activities to raise funds. While the medium sized parties rely on financial support donations for organizing all activities within the party in order to have enough funds to use for seeking benefits and developing the potential of the party. For small parties, they rely only on financial support to seek advantages rather than to develop  potentiality of the party.
