Factors influencing recidivism of female inmates at Central Women Correctional Institution

Abstract

This research aims to study the factors affecting the effectiveness of recidivism prevention, study problems and obstacles, and study the approaches to solving problems and obstacles, as well as recommendations affecting the effectiveness of recidivism prevention. This research is a qualitative research using document research and field research to collect data by interviewing 7 civil servants who work related to rehabilitation, correction, and behavioral development to prevent recidivism. They can provide good information on recidivism prevention, and female inmates who have recidivated more than once. This research uses the components of an organization that will achieve or succeed in accordance with its goals and be effective by Rnold and Faldman. The research results found that the factors that are organizational components affecting the effectiveness of recidivism prevention of female inmates at the Central Women's Correctional Institution are: 1) Organizational growth (Growth), 2) Organizational adaptability (Adaptability), 3) Resource acquisition (Resource Acquisition), 4) Productivity (Productivity), 5) Innovation (Innovation), 6) Customer/Client Satisfaction (Customer/Client Satisfaction) and satisfaction. which is the commitment of personnel to the organization, with problems and obstacles that are limitations to effectiveness in terms of the post-release environment, occupation, lack of an effective follow-up assistance system, including social problems, as well as recommendations from research consisting of classifying and evaluating individual prisoners for rehabilitation, integrating cooperation between agencies, and post-release support, including system and policy development.
