Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines Journal of Life Studies (LS)


1. Scope and Article Types

The Journal of Human and Life Studies aims to serve as a scholarly platform for the dissemination of high-quality research and academic works in the interdisciplinary field of “Human and Life Studies.” The journal is dedicated to advancing knowledge and understanding of human life across multiple dimensions, integrating perspectives from the humanities, social sciences, education, psychology, and human development.

The journal welcomes original research articles, review articles, and academic papers that explore contemporary issues related to human existence, well-being, learning, behavior, and social transformation. Emphasis is placed on works that demonstrate theoretical rigor, methodological soundness, and relevance to current societal contexts.

Scope of the journal includes

  • Human behavior and psychological well-being
  • Education, learning processes, and lifelong development
  • Social and cultural studies related to human life
  • Ethics, values, and meaning of life
  • Human development across the lifespan
  • Interdisciplinary approaches to improving quality of life

The Journal of Human and Life Studies aspires to be a valuable academic resource for scholars, educators, researchers, and the general public, fostering intellectual exchange, innovation, and the advancement of knowledge for the betterment of individuals and society.

Article Types

Research Article: Presents findings from a systematic study with clear methodology and a contribution to knowledge. Length: 5,000–10,000 words (excluding references). Abstract: ≤ 300 words.

Academic Article: Presents concepts, theories, or new perspectives with well-supported arguments. Length: 5,000–10,000 words (excluding references). Abstract: ≤ 300 words.


2. Manuscript Preparation

General Format

  • Accepted file formats: Microsoft Word (.docx) or OpenDocument (.odt)
  • Paper size: A4; margins: 2.54 cm (1 in.) on all sides
  • Font: Times New Roman 12pt (English) | TH Sarabun New 16pt (Thai sections)
  • Line spacing: 1.5 throughout
  • Remove all author-identifying information from the manuscript file before submission (Double-blind Review)

  1. Title (Thai and English)
  2. Abstract (Thai and English, ≤ 300 words each)
  3.  Keywords (3–5 terms, both languages)
  4. Introduction

Tables, Figures, and Illustrations

  • Insert tables and figures within the text at appropriate locations, not appended at the end
  • Tables: caption placed above — Table 1. Title (italic)
  • Figures / Charts: caption placed below — Figure 1. Description (italic)
  • Image resolution: minimum 300 dpi
  • Cite the source for any table or figure not created by the authors

3. References (APA 7th Edition)

All manuscripts must use APA 7th Edition for both in-text citations and the reference list. Full examples are provided in Document 03 — Reference and Bibliography Format, available for download on the journal website. LINK

In-text citation examples: (Smith, 2020) | Smith (2020) | (Smith et al., 2021, p. 45) | (WHO, 2022)

  • Arrange all references alphabetically and apply hanging indent
  • Italicize journal names and book titles
  • Include DOI or URL at the end of each entry; do not write "Retrieved from" before a URL

4. Submission Process

  1. Register as a user at https://so16.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/LS
  2. Log in and select "New Submission"; follow the on-screen steps
  3. Upload the anonymous manuscript file and a separate author information file
  4. Enter Title, Abstract, and Keywords in the system
  5. Confirm submission and await an acknowledgement email

⚠ Manuscripts must not have been previously published and must not be under consideration by another journal.


5. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

  • Domestic bank transfer (Thailand): THB 3,500 / article
  • International bank transfer: USD 190 / article

Payment details are communicated exclusively through the ThaiJO system after initial acceptance. All fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.


6. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo Double-Blind Peer Review by at least 2–3 expert reviewers. Possible decisions are:

  • Accept: Manuscript accepted as submitted
  • Minor Revision: Accepted subject to minor corrections as suggested by reviewers
  • Major Revision / Resubmit: Substantial revisions required; manuscript will be re-reviewed
  • Reject: Manuscript does not meet the journal's publication criteria

7. Copyright and Open Access

  • Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0)
  • Authors retain copyright but grant the journal the right to publish through all channels
  • The journal is fully Open Access — free worldwide
  • Authors may use their work for teaching or share on non-commercial platforms

8. Pre-Submission Checklist
