การวิจัยเรื่อง แอฟริกาหลังโควิด-19 มีวัตถุประสงค์สำคัญ 3 ประการคือ ศึกษา 1) แอฟริกาหลังโควิด-19 2) ปัญหาการพัฒนาแอฟริกาหลังโควิด-19 และ 3) แนวโน้มการพัฒนาแอฟริกาในทศวรรษหน้า (ค.ศ.2030) โดยใช้การวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยศึกษาเอกสาร หรือหนังสือบทความ ตลอดจนเก็บข้อมูลจากสื่อออนไลน์ อินเทอร์เน็ต และยูทูป
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) การพัฒนาแอฟริกาหลังโควิด-19 ยังคงดำเนินการตามเป้าหมายของการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืนของสหประชาชาติ ระเบียบวาระ 2063 หรือหุ้นส่วนใหม่เพื่อการพัฒนาแอฟริกาซึ่งเป็นแนวทางการพัฒนาของแอฟริกาเองต่อไป โดยมีสหภาพแอฟริกาเป็นองค์กรสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนการพัฒนา 2) ปัญหาการพัฒนาแอฟริกาหลังโควิด-19 คือแอฟริกาจะได้รับผลกระทบจากโรคระบาดดังกล่าวทั้งในด้านเศรษฐกิจ และสังคม ซึ่งจะทำให้เศรษฐกิจของประเทศแอฟริกาภูมิภาคใต้ทะเลทรายซาฮารา 49 ประเทศถดถอยเป็นครั้งแรกในรอบ 25 ปี และจะทำให้ชาวแอฟริกันดังกล่าวยากจนลง รัฐบาลแอฟริกันประสบปัญหาการชำระหนี้สินจำนวนมาก โดยเฉพาะหนี้สินกับจีน 3) แนวโน้มการพัฒนาแอฟริกาในทศวรรษหน้า (ค.ศ.2030) เน้นการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมสีเขียว การบูรณาการเศรษฐกิจ และการเปิดเสรีการค้า
