A Contextual and Cultural Psychological Analysis of the 2025 Color of the Year Mocha Mousse Application in the Contemporary Creative Industry
Main Article Content
Abstract
This analytical research aims to investigate the application contexts and aesthetic implications of the Pantone Color of the Year 2025, Mocha Mousse (PANTONE 17-1230), within graphic design and creative industries. By focusing on artistic expressions, socio-cultural environments, and psychological mechanisms, this study acknowledges that color usage has long exerted psychological influence and served as a symbolic medium across various eras. Utilizing a content analysis methodology to examine academic literature and trend reports, the analytical findings reveal that the Mocha Mousse hue is deployed as a strategic tool across three primary contexts: corporate identity design to reflect understated luxury, digital media design to mitigate the rigidity of technology, and print marketing emphasizing sustainability communication. Furthermore, theoretical analysis indicates that this warm brown tone functions as a symbolic representation addressing the psychological state of contemporary consumers who experience digital fatigue and yearn for emotional stability. In conclusion, these findings demonstrate that the Color of the Year 2025 is not merely a transient fashion trend, but rather a visual language reflecting a contextual shift in utilizing color psychology to cultivate stability, warmth, trust, a connection with nature, and human-centric communication in the post-digital era.
