Street drumming, commonly referred to in Thailand as “Recycle Drumming” is a form of percussion performance that takes place in public spaces, emphasizing rhythm as the primary medium of musical communication and audience interaction. This article aims to examine the meaning, characteristics, social roles, and potential of street drumming within the contexts of urban culture and contemporary music education. The study employs a literature review methodology based on research in ethnomusicology, music education, and community music. The findings indicate that street drumming reflects identity, creativity, and community participation while also serving as a tool for social interaction, cultural communication, and the activation of public spaces through creative activities. Furthermore, street drumming can be applied as an educational medium to effectively enhance musical skills, social skills, collaboration, and learners’ well-being. Therefore, street drumming can be regarded not only as a performing art form but also as a valuable learning process in contemporary society.
