Editorial Responsibilities

The Editorial Team is responsible for establishing the journal’s policies, strategic direction, scope, editorial procedures, and quality standards in accordance with national and international standards for scholarly publishing.

Its principal responsibilities include:

  1. Establishing the journal’s policies, strategic direction, publication format, scope, and quality standards in accordance with relevant academic and international indexing requirements.
  2. Managing and overseeing the peer-review process, including the selection and invitation of qualified reviewers from Thailand and other countries.
  3. Maintaining scholarly quality and publication ethics, including academic integrity, plagiarism prevention, research integrity, and ethical publishing practices.
  4. Overseeing editorial processes, English-language proofreading, manuscript preparation, formatting, and timely publication in accordance with the journal’s publication schedule.
  5. Evaluating the journal’s performance on a regular basis and implementing measures to continuously improve its scholarly and editorial quality in preparation for national and international indexing.
  6. Ensuring that the journal operates in accordance with applicable regulations, criteria, guidelines, and standards, including those established by the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI).

 

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions concerning manuscript screening, peer review, revision, acceptance, rejection, correction, and retraction are based on scholarly merit, originality, methodological rigor, research integrity, publication ethics, and relevance to the Aims and Scope of Global Studies in Music (GSM).

Editorial decisions are made independently and impartially and are not influenced by inappropriate commercial, financial, institutional, political, or personal interests.

The Editor-in-Chief has final responsibility for editorial decisions concerning manuscripts submitted to the journal, taking into consideration the recommendations of independent peer reviewers and the journal’s academic and ethical standards.
