Analysis of green space to support an aging society Bang Yi Khan Subdistrict, Bang Phlat District, Bangkok

Abstract

Currently, the Bang Yi Khan subdistrict has less green space per capita than the standard set by the World Health Organization (WHO). This subdistrict is characterized by high population density and building density compared to other areas. Additionally, the working-age population in this area is higher than in other age groups. Soon, this demographic is expected to transition into a full-fledged elderly population. To address the challenges of an aging society, urban infrastructure management planning is essential. This research aims to analyze the potential of green spaces in the current area and identify areas with the potential for increasing green spaces for future activities, which play a significant role in elderly care. Analyzing suitable areas and the characteristics of good green spaces is crucial and cannot be overlooked. This research utilizes Potential Surface Analysis (PSA) to analyze the potential of areas, with variables determining suitable areas for creating green spaces for future activities.
