Publication Ethics Guidelines of Journal of Business Management and Technology

Journal of Business Management and Technology (JBMT) ISSN xxxx-xxxx (Online) is aware of the significance of publication ethics to maintain high-quality publications and to ensure ethical standards of the journal. Hence, publications of research work and academic articles under JBMT shall comply with the following ethical guidelines.

Ethics Roles and Responsibilities of Journal Consultants

  1. A consultant provides advice, opinions, and comments to ensure that the articles submitted to JBMT comply with Thai Citation Index Centre (TCI).
  2. A consultant supports and promotes the work of JBMT.

Ethics Roles and Responsibilities of the Editor and Editorial Board

  1. The editor and editorial board maintain the high quality and standard of the journal and improving the journal quality in accordance with TCI.
  2. The editor and editorial board accept and consider only manuscripts that have not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  3. The editor and editorial board screen and evaluate content of the submitted manuscripts based on academic objectives before sending them to reviewers.
  4. The editor and editorial board select, coordinate, and assign manuscripts appropriate to each reviewer’s area of interest and expertise, and ensure that the authors and reviewers are not in the same affiliation.
  5. The editor and editorial board coordinate, follow up, and pass reviewers’ comments to the authors for revision.
  6. The editor and editorial board must not disclose any information about the reviewers and authors to any parties who are not involved in any stage of article evaluation.
  7. The editor and editorial board shall not amend reviewers’ decisions on the reviewed articles.
  8. The editor and editorial board check for potential plagiarism of the submitted articles to verify their originality using trustable plagiarism detection software. In case of plagiarism, the editor or editorial board should suspend the review process and contact the author(s) immediately. If the author fails to provide a satisfactory explanation on scholarly ground regarding the issues, the editor and editorial board shall retract such articles.  
  9. The editor and editorial board must not have shared benefits with the reviewers and authors in reviewing a manuscript; and must not use the articles submitted to the journal for commercial benefit and/or academic purposes of their own.
  10. Decisions of the editor and editorial board are final.

Ethics Roles and Responsibilities of Reviewers

  1. Reviewers evaluate assigned manuscripts in their field of expertise and will not of personal opinions which are not based on scholarly criteria to decide manuscripts he/she is assigned.
  2. Reviewers evaluate assigned manuscripts in their field of expertise without bias or personal conflicts.
  3. Reviewers return a review within the timeframe proposed by the journal.
  4. Reviewers are encouraged to respect the confidentiality of the peer review process and must not disclose information obtained during the review process for his/her own or another’s advantage.
  5. Reviewers must not have a conflict of interest, both direct and indirect, with the authors. If conflicts of interest are the case, reviewers must disclose such conflicts to the editor or editorial board immediately, and request to abstain from reviewing the manuscripts.
  6. If plagiarism is detected with convincing evidence, the reviewers have full authority to reject such manuscript and inform the editor/ editorial board immediately.  
  7. Decisions of the editorial board are final.

Ethics Roles and Responsibilities of Authors

  1. Authors must declare that the manuscripts submitted to JBMT have not been published in any academic journals and must not submit manuscripts under a review process to other journals.
  2. Authors are encouraged to strictly follow the author’s guideline provided by JBMT and arrange their manuscripts in accordance with the template specified by the journal.
  3. Authors must not duplicate article content of other research work and must respect research ethics.
  4. Authors must certify that the names in the author line are significant contributors to the research.
  5. Authors bear sole responsibility for all texts, content, figures, and tables in the articles published in the journal.
  6. Authors are encouraged to disclose all sources of funding for research and clearly state conflicts of interest (if any).
  7. Authors must revise their reviewed manuscripts in accordance with suggestions and comments of the editor and reviewers strictly and must return the revised manuscripts to JBMT in a period of time allotted by the editor and editorial board. If the revised manuscripts cannot be returned due to unprecedented circumstances, the authors must inform the editorial board immediately.
  8. Copyright of articles published in this journal is retained by Journal of Business Management and Technology, Faculty of Management Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Surin Campus.
  9. If the study involves participation of humans as participants or volunteers, or results of the study raise sensitive issues on the informants, or the study involves use of animals, it is highly advisable that the author and researchers strictly comply with research ethics and relevant laws and rules. A statement that informed consent was obtained before collecting data is required. Relevant documents such as approval letter to conduct the study issued by the institutional or local ethics committee for research in humans or research in animals must be provided.
  10. Decisions of the editorial board are final.
