Peer Review Process

The peer review process for articles submitted for publication in the ASEAN Journal of Education and Human Development consists of eight steps, as follows:

1. Article submission via Thaijo system

2. Preliminary screening by the Editorial Board (1 week):
All submitted manuscripts will be checked for completeness by the Editorial Board based on:

  • Formatting and layout

  • Language use

  • Plagiarism (no more than 25%)

  • Sufficiency and reliability of cited sources

  • Referencing style

  • Redundancy/duplication

If a manuscript fails to comply with the journal’s requirements or exceeds the allowable plagiarism rate, it will be rejected and the author will be notified.

3. Peer review by experts (1–2 weeks):
Manuscripts passing the preliminary screening will be sent to at least 2–3 qualified reviewers under a double-blind review process. The evaluation outcomes are:
3.1 Accept
3.2 Accept with minor revision
3.3 Accept with major revision
3.4 Reject

4. Review results and author revision (1–2 weeks):
Once reviews are received, the Editorial Board will consider and finalize the decision. Manuscripts must receive either Accept or Accept with minor revision to proceed. If the result is Accept with major revision, the Editorial Board will make the final judgment. Manuscripts receiving Reject will not be published. Review results and recommendations will be sent to authors for revision under the following procedure:
4.1 Review results will be communicated to authors within 7 days of receipt.
4.2 Authors must revise and resubmit via the system within 14 days.

5. Submission of revised manuscript (1–2 weeks):
For accepted manuscripts, authors must revise according to reviewers’ comments and any additional editorial suggestions, providing a detailed response document. The process is as follows:
5.1 Editorial check of revisions within 7 days.
5.2 A second revision (if required) must be submitted within 7 days. The Editorial Board reserves the right to withhold the acceptance letter if revisions are not made or adequately explained.

6. Issuance of acceptance letter:
Once the revised manuscript is verified and deemed satisfactory, the Editorial Board will confirm publication and proceed with artwork and layout preparation (within 7 days).

7. Abstract checking and proofreading (1–2 weeks):
Before final production, the Editorial Board will review the abstract, proofread, and check formatting (within 7 days). Authors must make final corrections and resubmit within 7 days.

8. Publication and dissemination:
