Buddhadhamma Integration for Caring Elderly of Local Administration in Mae Yang Hor Sub-district at Rong Kwang District in Phrae Province

Abstract

This research article aims to (1) study the level of quality of life care for the elderly by local administrators in Mae Yang Hor Subdistrict, (2) examine the relationship between the principles of Brahmavihara and the quality of life care for the elderly by local administrators in Mae Yang Hor Subdistrict, and (3) present the integration of the principles of Brahmavihara in the quality of life care for the elderly by local administrators in Mae Yang Hor Subdistrict, Rong Kwang District, Phrae Province. This study employs a mixed-methods research approach, consisting of (1) quantitative research, collecting data through questionnaires from a sample group of 249 people, and analyzing the data using descriptive statistics, including mean and standard deviation, and (2) qualitative research, using structured in-depth interviews to analyze the data descriptively. The results of the study found that: 1) the overall level of quality of life care for the elderly is high; 2) the relationship between the principles of Brahmavihara and the quality of life care for the elderly is positively correlated at a high level with statistical significance; and 3) the integration of the principles of Brahmavihara in the quality of life care for the elderly includes: (1) Metta (loving-kindness), (2) Karuna (compassion), (3) Mudita (sympathetic joy for the elderly in the community), and (4) Upekkha (equanimity), adhering to government regulations and demonstrating integrity in the duty of caring for the elderly.
